All of the Foundation’s assets have come from people who live in Pasadena, who work in Pasadena, raise their families in Pasadena….people who love Pasadena.
The Pasadena Community serves as a leader, catalyst, and resource for philanthropy in order to improve the lives of people in the greater Pasadena area, now and for future generations.
To fulfill our mission, the Pasadena Community Foundation:
What is a Community Foundation?
A community foundation is a tax-exempt public charity created by and for the people in a local area.
It enables people with philanthropic interests and a commitment to their community, to easily and effectively support the issues they care about – immediately, or through their will. Donors can establish a charitable fund at the Pasadena Community Foundation by contributing a variety of assets and may also recommend grants, in their name, to nonprofit groups they want to support.
The Pasadena Community Foundation was established in 1953 and has served the greater Pasadena community for almost 60 years. Today, the foundation continues to meet community needs through:
1. The Establishment of Charitable Funds
We work with individuals, families and organizations to establish philanthropic funds.
2. Investment and Management of Charitable Assets
We build endowment through prudent investment for long term growth
3. Grant Making to Charitable Organizations
We provide financial support to local non-profits through our grant making programs.
4. Partnerships with Donors.
We offer expertise and knowledge of the local non-profit community to donors.
