The Pasadena-Altadena Chapter of the Links is one of 273 chapters located throughout the United States and internationally that is committed to improving lives through programs of service.

In 2000, the Links established a charitable foundation to support educational and charitable activities for the benefit of the greater Pasadena community, the Pasadena Altadena Community Endowment Fund (PACEF).   In 2007, PACEF made the bold decision to set a goal to raise $250,000 for a scholarship endowment fund.  PACEF decided to partner with the Pasadena Community Foundation to manage the growing endowment. The Links manages the scholarship selection process.  In February 2011, both groups gathered at the Women’s City Club to celebrate the ten year anniversary of PACEF.

Saturday Conservatory Saturday Conservatory of Music Endowment Fund
For over 40 years the Saturday Conservatory of Music has worked to provide affordable music lessons to kids.  Some of their former students now serve as teachers and Board members at the Conservatory.  Originally operating on the Cal State Los Angeles campus, the group moved in 2000 to Lake Avenue Community Church in Pasadena.  Every Saturday, they set up 30 classrooms and teach everything from violin, bass, oboe, clarinet, and the harp to voice and music theory.  The Saturday Conservatory built their endowment by encouraging donations to honor those who believed in the Conservatory’s mission. According to Jeff Bruce, whose father founded the Conservatory, “Having the Foundation take care of the endowment, lets us focus on our passion and mission – teaching children.”
