Helping Kids Get the Education They Need

"I believe in this short amount of time I have managed to leave a significant impact on my community.”

Pasadena Community Foundation

Scholarship Funds

PCF can work with donors to set up Scholarship Funds to benefit specific educational institutions or reward excellence in a particular field.

Through the Pasadena Community Foundation, scholarship funds are easy to establish.  They reflect the donor’s interest in supporting the aspirations and capabilities of others to accomplish worthwhile scientific, athletic, artistic or other goals.  Scholarships such as the Fulbright or Rhodes Scholarships are examples of how these funds continue to honor
their donors. The accomplishments of scholarship recipients serve as a tribute to the wisdom and commitment of the original donor.

In addition to providing a bright future for young students needing financial assistance, scholarship funds can recognize individuals and support treasured values.  You can set up a scholarship fund to benefit a specific school or any non-profit organization. A Scholarship Committee will be appointed to identify the recipient for the scholarship. The Foundation will manage the annual distribution of funds on your behalf.

Ayden Salek

Aydin Salek Memorial Leadership Scholarship Fund

Wanting to honor the memory of their recently deceased son and keep alive his spirit of community participation and scholastic dedication, the parents of former South Pasadena student Aydin Salek have established a scholarship fund in his name with the Pasadena Community Foundation.  The purpose of the fund will be to support other South Pasadena High School student leaders and/ or high-achieving students of Iranian descent who have demonstrated a special interest and dedication to improving Iranian-American affairs.

In establishing the Aydin Salek Memorial Leadership Scholarship Fund, his parents, Hamid and Azita Salek, know that Aydin’s impact on his community will continue to live through this legacy to other students who share Aydin’s academic achievements and leadership qualities.

The first grant will be awarded to one of Aydin’s classmates graduating in June 2010.
