The Maria Antonia M. Niven Endowment Fund, a legacy created with love.
Maria Antonia M. Niven, know as Tony by her friends, had many blessings in her life. At the end of her life, her children wanted to recognize and honor their mother’s belief in giving back to her community.
They created the Maria Antonia M. Niven Endowment Fund at the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF), an unrestricted fund that will support the grant making programs of the Foundation. After Mrs. Niven passed away in July, memorial contributions from friends and family added to the fund. In her obituary she was quoted to say, “Love is what it’s all about and I had it in abundance.” Through this charitable fund at PCF, Mrs. Niven’s generosity and love of this community will live on in perpetuity.
Philip V. & Sara Lee Swan Endowment Fund, a legacy for the community.
The Swans have left a legacy to the community through a named, unrestricted endowment fund established to support the work of the Foundation. The Philip V. and Sarah Lee Swan Endowment Fund is invested in the Foundation’s long term portfolio and the annual payout contributes to the grant making programs of the Foundation. Through a named endowment fund, the Swans have become perpetual “Fellows” of the Foundation and members of PCF’s Legacy Society.
A fund to honor his philanthropic commitment to Pasadena was established in 2005
The James N. Gamble Endowment Fund was established in 2005 by friends and family of Jim Gamble as a tribute to Jim’s commitment to local philanthropy. Jim’s father, Cecil Gamble was a founding advisory board member of the Pasadena Community Foundation and Jim served on the PCF Board for 10 years from 1978-1987.
In April 2005, the PARAID Board selected PCF to continue the legacy that Jim Gamble began through the Foundation’s Donor Advised giving program. The James Gamble Endowment Fund honors Jim’s work as the founder of PARAID and as a Board member of the community foundation. The fund will support the local grant making programs of PCF.
