PASADENA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ADDS THREE MEMBERS TO
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Pasadena Community Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors.  They include Judy Gain, Director, Global Treasury Operations for Avery Dennison Corporation; Eddie Newman, former Director of Regional Occupational Programs for the Pasadena Unified School District and retired John Muir High School Principal and Michael D. Schneickert, Managing Director of Private Wealth Management for UBS Financial Services.
Each of these new board members has his or her own reason for wanting to give their time to furthering the work of the Pasadena Community Foundation.  For Judy Gain, it’s the pleasure of being a part of an organization that stresses the value of local giving.  Money that is made here stays here and is returned to the community in the form of grants from the Foundation.  A world-traveler whose occupation requires frequent contact with people and places all over the globe, Judy has learned to value organizations like the Pasadena Community Foundation that invest in their local communities to keep them strong.

Eddie Newman is joining the Pasadena Community Foundation board because she has seen it in action.  As a leader in the field of education, she watched the Foundation contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to improve educational programs in the Pasadena Unified School District.  As a member of the Pasadena LINKS that created the Pasadena Altadena Community Endowment Fund (PACEF) which is placed with the Pasadena Community Foundation, she values its stewardship and management of PACEF’s funds.  “The Foundation provides excellent investment management and also knows how to apply donations where they are most needed.  That’s a great combination, well worth supporting,” says Newman.

Michael Schneickert and his family moved to Pasadena because they love this family-oriented community and the way it takes care of its own.  “Pasadena has a great heritage and the Pasadena Community Foundation helps preserve that heritage by giving back to the local community.  The Foundation understands that we are stewards of what came before and need to carry those values forward.”  For Schneickert, the investment of his time, energy and resources in the 57-year-old Pasadena Community Foundation is a way to leave a legacy, one that makes sure Pasadena remains a great place to live for all those who call it home.
